PRODUCTS & past PROJECTS

At Thrive, we apply learning science and theories of change to the real-life challenges facing communities. Whether your desired outcome is a quality product, project, or skill set, Jeanette will work with you to customize solutions and make decisions together about what is possible, so you stay within your budget and meet your deadlines. A small sample of the products and projects Jeanette has developed or collaborated on in the last few years are linked below. Explore these samples of work, or take a look at our current projects, then book a discovery call to talk through your product or project, budget, and deadlines. Working together, we can reduce your stress and overwhelm.
The Power of Parenting
Between 2018-2021, Jeanette was invited to consult with the National Child Traumatic Stress Network's Bereavement Work Group. Together they developed handouts for newly bereaved families that were distributed nationally via New York Life Foundation. Five resources were developed to help families when a parent or sibling died, including from causes related to substance abuse, homicide, and COVID-19. Click on the links to explore some of them.

Community cancer prevention campaign
Breast Cancer Action (BCA) is a 501(c)(3) based out of San Francisco, CA. Their mission is to achieve health justice for all people at risk of and living with breast cancer by focusing on systemic interventions. Interested in growing a community presence on the East Coast, Jeanette worked with them as the volunteer lead on a Western New York chapter of the organization. For five years with the support of BCA, she led a local community campaign to educate and organize breast cancer survivors and all at-risk of the disease to understand the link between systemic environmental influences on breast cancer and our local toxic landscape. She was also invited to share her writing and work with BCA's national audience through their blogs and webinars. Read and view some of her work with BCA by exploring the links below.

small shop Design
As Executive Director at Grassroots Gardens WNY, Jeanette wrote and designed all of their annual fundraising appeals and annual reports. A sample of these products are below. She knows that small nonprofits often need to shop out these annual mailings to their supporters. Thrive would be happy to work on small projects like this with you so it's one less thing you need to worry about.

grief advocacy
Since being widowed in 2014, Jeanette has done significant work as an advocate for bereaved families. She has shared her family's story in podcasts, blogs, book contributions, at conferences and soon, in her first memoir. She has also helped to co-create a gardening-based psychoeducational workshop, They That Sow in Tears, that uses gardening as an adaptive coping tool. It's important to Jeanette to talk and write authentically about grief, love, healing, and how to move forward with life after loss.
