As a concerned citizen, Jeanette has helped to lead the fight against a proposed asphalt plant in Hamburg, NY, and has given guidance to other communities looking to do the same. She has organized breast cancer survivors to tackle primary pollution issues in Western New York on behalf of Breast Cancer Action, and co-facilitated a community-led task force to develop resident policy recommendations on vacant lot reuse in the city of Buffalo.
